Bright, tropical Hawaiian Mai Tai with rum, lime, and orgeat. Perfectly shaken for a refreshing cocktail experience.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

Ice cubes

1 medium lime (for juice)

30 ml white rum

30 ml dark rum

22 ml orgeat syrup

15 ml Grand Marnier

→ Garnish:

Lime wheel

Fresh mint sprig

Maraschino cherry

Instructions

Fill a rocks or old fashioned glass with ice cubes.

Juice the lime until you have 30 ml of fresh lime juice.

Add the lime juice, white rum, dark rum, orgeat syrup, and Grand Marnier to a cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice, seal, and shake vigorously until the exterior feels frosty, approximately 20 seconds.

Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into the prepared glass filled with ice.

Finish with a lime wheel, fresh mint sprig, or maraschino cherry as desired.

Notes

  1. Orange curaçao or Cointreau can replace Grand Marnier in equal measure.
  2. For a rum float, omit the dark rum from the shaker. After straining, pour the dark rum over the finished drink before garnishing.
