I’ll never forget the first time I served these Pop Rocks Jello Shots at a friend’s birthday party.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup flavored vodka (strawberry or blue raspberry recommended)

1 cup boiling water

1 package (3 oz) flavored Jello (match flavor with vodka)

1 cup cold water

23 packets Pop Rocks candy (cherry, watermelon, or blue raspberry)

Shot glasses or small plastic cups

Instructions

Boil 1 cup of water in a pot or kettle.

Add the flavored Jello powder to a large mixing bowl.

Carefully pour the boiling water into the bowl with the Jello powder.

Stir for 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved.

Add 1 cup of cold water and 1 cup of flavored vodka to the mixture, stirring well.

Use a ladle or measuring cup to pour the mixture into shot glasses or plastic cups, filling each about ¾ full.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until firm.

Just before serving, sprinkle Pop Rocks candy generously on top of each shot.

Serve immediately to enjoy the fizzy, crackling effect.

Notes

For the best “pop” effect, add the Pop Rocks right before serving—if added too early, they’ll lose their signature crackle.
